Snow Plow

Postby ToBFree » Sun Feb 28, 2010 8:18 pm

So, does anyone know anyone who has successfully mounted a snow plow to the front of a MINI? I'm giving it great thought so I can stop worrying about plowing it with the grille or shoveling everyother day. :frown:

Mother Nature, I give up!

btw, where is everyone? Hiding in your homes? Com'out and play!

:wavey: :wavey: :wavey: Mark, you need to move here!!! We've had a few storms, but today is about 45-50 and sunny. I never thought how much winter can be "decent" when you're seeing the sun almost every day. I know my neighbors think I'm nuts but I was out in sandals and shorts today (they were in jackets and hats).

Yeah, really I should. Today I found a new pothole this morning I didn't know existed. I mean a rough one. Broke another rear spring. :mad2: Good news is I have spares from last year's spring damage event and switched it out tonight.

Bet there's no potholes down there.

Funny, only a long-distance member checks in all day. Miss us? :rofl2:

You know what's funny... They do have potholes. These people complain about a 1" deep pothole hurting their cars. I mean there is a nightly segment on the news about potholes. The last time I saw one it said "Greensboro has about 150 potholes ( :rofl2: ) it should take the road crew about 4 days to fill them all" They were ripping open bags (like you buy from Home depot) of patch. We were getting a good laugh out of that.

I also have to say that the news also has a "NASCAR Segment" each night. We're surrounded by many of the race teams (and their fans). I thought that was a bit odd for "news" but...

Right up till you start talking snow... That I don't miss. Then again, it's a 3-3.5 hour drive to the dragon so I can see you if you get this way...

Maybe I posted prematurely. It was a beautiful weekend, ToBFree is clean inside and out, 50's (or close to) all week. Spring is in the air. Even placed my springtime order for plugs, filter cleaning kit, and certain items I really don't need.

Still puzzled about the issue with my H-Sport springs. Is anyone in the group running H&R Sports?

Are you inquiring about H-Sport which are Hotchkis or H & R springs? I have the H&R cup kit on my Jetta and I like them alot. They are designed specifically for the weight of the vehicle. The only problem is it is designed for not having passengers in the back seat. But that can be fixed w/ some spacers. It rides great empty though.

I had the H-Sports by Hotchkis. Broke two sets of rears, all within 2 inches of the bottom end. Didn't matter if I could get a 3rd set for free under warranty or not, I took them off and I'm am back up on OEM at normal riding height. The damage a broken spring can cause far outweighs the free springs. While several folks have put many miles on them (some 80k - 90k), I never got more than 9,500. I'm watching a thread on NAM for a MINI lower set of Swift Springs which will be linear instead of progressive. I miss the lowered MINI, but it just wasn't worth the hassles.
